Cracow University of Technology and Salumanus - a new stage of cooperation

A new stage of cooperation between the Cracow University of Technology and Salumanus begins. We are starting with a new edition of the training program for PK students in IT majors. We also invite future engineers for internships and internships within the Salumanus Career Laboratory.

After a break caused by the pandemic, students of applied informatics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Krakow University of Technology (WM PK) are the first to return to the Salumanus training room. During the workshop, led by the company's experts, they will learn the advanced configuration of DCN network switches. The plan is to discuss, among others, security mechanisms, logging and routing. Salumanus offers to participate in the certified training, which has already benefited more than 400 professional network administrators.

We are delighted with the new opening in cooperation with Salumanus. The difficult time of the pandemic is thankfully behind us and we can return to initiatives that bring many benefits to our students. Participation in training, internships and internships offered by Salumanus will give our students valuable skills and highlight their engineering resume as they enter the workforce — says Rector of CP Prof. Andrzej Białkiewicz.

DCN network equipment students of the University of Technology already know from the university network laboratory, which, thanks to the cooperation of the company Salumanus with PK, has been operating since 2018 in the Department of Applied Informatics of WM. Salumanus equipped the teaching laboratory, among others, with DCN L3 Enterprise class network switches with cabling. In cooperation with the Polytechnic University, the company's engineers give lectures on network management. In addition, this academic year experts participated in the consultations of the training program in the field of applied informatics.

- We were aware that a good study plan, that is, one that will make our graduates attractive in the labor market, must be consulted with employers. We have received very valuable support from Salumanus representatives in this regard — says Aneta Gądek-Moszczak, PhD, professor of PK, Supervisor of Applied Informatics. - The combination of our academic perspective and experience and knowledge of the trends in the development of information technologies used in modern industry has resulted in the development of a new study plan that will ensure the education of such graduates that employers are waiting for.

Computer science students from all faculties of PK interested in the topic of networks and optical transmission, the Cracow company invites to participate in the Salumanus Career Laboratory. It is an internship and internship program in which technical students or students become members of technical teams. They participate in real projects and receive the support of a mentor.
